Stretch and Strengthen

*Beginners*

Thursday : 7.30 – 9.00 pm

The practice of asana cleanses the body by encouraging the circulation of fresh blood throughout the body to eradicate disease and toxins through irregular lifestyle patterns, unhealthy habits, poor breathing practices and poor posture. Regular practice of stretching, twisting, forward and backbends, gentle inversions and breathing practices restores strength, stamina and vitality to the body. In these sessions we will work on making the body strong and flexible, tone the muscles, tissues, ligaments, joints and nerves in the body together with inducing a tranquil state of mind.

With regular practice you will notice your body becoming more flexible, supple, and toned, and you will experience increased levels of strength and endurance.

INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION

Beginners Classes

The meditation classes are designed for beginners and will guide you through all of the basic techniques that will allow you to get started and begin your practice at home. The class will run for one hour each Monday evening.

MOTHER AND BABY YOGA

MONDAY 11.30 - 12.30pm

Our Mother and Baby classes are conducted by experienced prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher Carol Lawrence. These classes are ideal for the postnatal Mum to get in some exercise and nurturing without the need for a babysitter because the bubs join in too! The classes also give new Mums the opportunity to meet and chat with other new Mums. Mother and Baby classes involve both Mum and Baby in the yoga and are enjoyable for both of you, while encouraging bonding and a general feeling of happiness and wellbeing. Come and join the fun and laughter!

YOGA FOR TEENS


Yoga for teenagers promotes self-awareness, joy, creativity, self-confidence and wellness of mind, body and spirit. It develops concentration, balance and focus in teenagers who are distracted by the stresses of school, hormonal changes, social and family life.

A Yoga practice improves health, fitness and energy levels. It helps in during puberty by regulating the glands that control the hormones responsible for physical changes, balancing mood swings and aids in the functioning of internal organs which are growing and changing.

Yoga is neither competitive nor judgmental. It inspires a sense of self and connection with the world around us. Yoga for teenagers develops self-confidence, a more accepting relationship with their body and a positive image of who they are.

CLASSES ARE HELD ON THURSDAY AFTERNOONS BETWEEN
5.00PM - 6.00PM

Yoga for Teenagers is suitable for students from year 7 +
